Where Soul Meets Bone

Katherine Everitt

Take a bite out of me

Or swallow me whole

Rest your mouth where

My bones meet my soul

I despise this gap

Where I end and begin

I’m begging you to

Plummet fingers within

Me, between the holes

In the thread

Or pull at the seams

Stitching my mind to my head

Rip me apart!

Or seal me in tomb

Just help me close up

This delicious wound
